Memorial Ceremony for Yitzhak Rabin

The memorial ceremony for Former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin will be held on Monday, October 18 at 12 noon. The BIU President, Prof. Arie Zaban, Campus Rabbi Shlomo Shefer, and Student Union Chairman Reuven Lorenzi will speak at the event, which will also feature a biographical movie, “Everything is Personal” about Yitzhak Rabin and the major milestones in his life. 

Orientation Fair and Red Carpet

Some 100 international students and new immigrants (Olim) attended the Orientation Fair and Red Carpet, organized by Bar-Ilan University’s International School, on Sunday, October 10. The informative, fun and tasty event, which featured information stands, service desks, and short presentations by senior campus officials and the International School staff, as well as a drumming session and some ethnic Israeli food. Representatives of the Jewish Agency, the Israel Ministry of Absorption, CNEF – National Center of Francophone Students, and Nefesh B’Nefesh were also present at the event.

No More Nasal Swabs?

A pilot to authenticate saliva-based (in place of swab-based) PCR tests has begun. The pilot is a collaboration between the Central Virology Laboratory at the Ministry of Health and Bar-Ilan University, as part of a joint endeavor to identify and develop new technologies in the framework of the national effort to combat COVID-19, together with the Administration for Technological Infrastructure of the Ministry of Defense and Healthcare Israel of the Ministry of Health.
