Bar-Ilan University’s International School has announced the launch of four new degree programs taught entirely in English: A Multidisciplinary BA in Jewish Studies, an MA in Jewish Philosophy, an online MA in Religious and Middle Eastern Politics, and an MA in Classical Studies.

The Multidisciplinary BA in Jewish Studies offers four main concentrations: Bible, Jewish History, Jewish Philosophy, and Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology. The program also includes a wide variety of electives from other departments in BIU’s Faculty of Jewish Studies, such as Talmud, Hebrew and Semitic Languages, Hebrew Literature, Yiddish and Ladino, Jewish Art, and Middle Eastern Studies. Students may create individualized curricula, which best reflect their interests within the field of Jewish Studies. For more on the Multidisciplinary BA in Jewish Studies

The two-year MA Program in Jewish Philosophy focuses on Jewish philosophy from the classical period until modern times, including the study of Kabbalah and Hasidism. Special emphasis is put on the study and research of philosophical thinking, mystical contemplation, and interreligious relations. Courses offer an in-depth exploration of the works and teachings of such great Jewish thinkers as Maimonides (Rambam), Rabbi Yehuda Halevi, Rabbi Kook, and Chabad Lubavitch’s Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. For more on the MA in Jewish Philosophy

The two-year, online MA Program in Religious and Middle Eastern Politics provides a deep academic grounding in these two areas as well as in general political science. The program offers a broad survey of Middle Eastern politics as well as religious politics both in the Middle East and on a global scale.  At the same time, we provide courses that cover basic political science theory and methodology. Thus, while this course of study has a unique focus, it will also provide a broad foundation in the general discipline of political science. For more on the MA in Religious and Middle Eastern Politics

The two-year MA Program in Classical Studies (Research Track) provides tools for the scientific study of the Classical Greek and Roman world. Students explore the history, philosophy, languages, literature, and culture of these societies with globally-renowned lecturers and researchers in a land that has long been a melting pot and meeting point for two great traditions, the Greco-Roman and the Judeo-Christian. Courses have a virtual option (via Zoom), enabling students to participate in the program from anywhere in the world. For more on the MA in Classical Studies
