Prof. Orly Avni
Prof. Orly Avni is a Professor of Immunology, researching processes related to the immune system's functionality in health and disease situations. She completed her Doctoral studies at the Hebrew University, as well as a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Harvard University.
Prof. Avni’s professional vision for the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine focuses on recruiting outstanding research faculty to fortify its research units in the fields of bio-medicine and bio-informatics. She encourages interdisciplinary research collaborations.
The Azrieli Faculty of Medicine at Bar-Ilan University operates on the Safed campus and is considered one of the leading faculties in medical research and education in Israel.
The faculty is dedicated to promoting and developing healthcare services for the residents of the Galilee, with an emphasis on contributing to health, multi-culturalism, and the integration of diverse populations. It also focuses on developing international leadership and scientific and medical activities.
Among the medical centers affiliated to the faculty are Ziv Medical Center in Safed, Galilee (Nahariya) Medical Center named after Padeh (Poria), and the French, English, and Italian hospitals in Nazareth.
