BIU Researchers Secure NIS 23 Million in ISF Grants for 2023-24

The ISF, Israel's premier funding body for cutting-edge basic research, has recognized the exceptional scientific excellence of Bar-Ilan's diverse research community. This substantial financial boost will not only advance innovative studies but also facilitate the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment for the university's laboratories.

Among the grant recipients are some of Bar-Ilan's brightest minds:

Prof. Yonatan Aumann and Prof. David Sarne from the Department of Computer Science are exploring human-computer interfaces in advisory systems, aiming to enhance user satisfaction in applications like navigation and stock trading.

Prof. Moti Fridman from the Faculty of Engineering is pushing the boundaries of quantum temporal optics, developing novel tools to measure ultra-fast quantum events.

Dr. Shimrit Daches from the Department of Psychology is investigating the role of depression in positive emotion dynamics, with potential implications for improving mental health interventions.

Dr. Maayan Katzir from the Conflict Management and Negotiation Program is introducing an innovative approach to conflict resolution by integrating need-based emotion regulation in interpersonal conflicts.

Prof. Ronit Irshai from the Gender Studies Program is examining sexuality and gender in contemporary Orthodox Jewish law, exploring the intricate relationships between holiness, gender, and the human body.
